1st Qtr 2025 Plaster Sculpture

Class Size: 12 In this class everyone will start with a “blob” of plaster in a plastic baggie. Once it hardens you will chisel, carve and then sand the piece to a smooth finish. Then you will paint it and mount on a piece of panel. No experience is necessary but prepare to have fun creating a miniature sculpture that will sit proudly on a shelf in your home

Basic Hand Building in Clay

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and have some creative fun! This ceramics class invites students – both beginners and those with experience -to explore clay in a relaxed, social, and joyful setting. We’ll try out a variety of techniques-pinching, rolling, sculpting, decorating, glazing-so everyone can discover what they enjoy most or build on what they already know. Whether you’re new to clay or looking to refine your skills, you’ll have a unique, handmade ceramic piece to proudly take home and show off. Class Size: 10

Paper Mâché Magic: Bowls, Masks & Curious Critters Step into a world where torn paper, glue, and a dash of imagination transform into treasures! In this lively, hands-on class, you’ll learn to sculpt graceful bowls, mysterious masks, and delightfully quirky animals. We’ll explore shaping techniques, layering for strength, and adding bold, joyful colors that make your creations pop. Whether you dream of crafting a regal cat mask, a polka-dotted penguin, or a shimmering fruit bowl, you’ll leave with artwork that’s as unique as you are. No experience? 2nd Qtr 2023 Clay Time!

Basic Hand Building in Clay

Class Size: ? This is a very broad class teaching the basics of working with clay and encouraging participants to experiment and push the limits of their creative skills. We will learn the basics of hand building and sculpting techniques as well as using glazes and painted finishes.

A basic hand building clay class with assigned projects for all levels. Focus will be on forming objects, incorporating surface design techniques and creating functional pieces. Students will learn to use underglazes and glazes. We will have a one hour lunch break. This is not an open studio, students will need to purchase before coming to class a bag of clay "BMix Cone04 6" from Davens Ceramics Supply. Note: If the first day of a five week session is missed participant “will be removed from the class roster.”
